This course provides students with essential exposure to the tasks and challenges of public-private partnership (PPP) project managers—those responsible for the vital functions of managing or overseeing PPPs throughout the construction phase.
PPPs are typically large-scale, complex infrastructure projects. Due to their scale, managing PPPs can be a real challenge. Therefore, project management competencies are essential for effective partnering, efficient delivery of the desired assets, and upholding a PPP’s value for money.
During construction, governments must set up a proper PPP monitoring system to understand the project issues and show the private partner that the owner is an informed and vigilant counterparty.
This course explores the fundamentals of waterfall project management (i.e., the linear and sequential approach), including the tools, processes, and planning skills required by both government and private organizations. This course aligns with the Project Management Institute’s PMI® standards and the Project Management Body of Knowledge Guide (PMBOK® V6).
