Professional Certifications

The Institute for Public-Private Partnerships, Inc. (IP3) and the Water, Engineering and Development Centre of Loughborough University (WEDC/LU) sponsor three professional certification programs:

• Certified Public-Private Partnership Specialist™
• Certified Regulation Specialist™
• Certified Competitive Utility Management Specialist™

These landmark professional certification programs create a world class standard of knowledge in public-private partnerships, regulation, and utility management and provide participants who complete the requirements of each certification with the technical and managerial tools to effect change at the enterprise, sector, or policy-making level.

Requirements

To receive certification, participants are required to:

• Complete 24.0 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) from an approved list of training courses offered by IP3, WEDC/LU and third-party education and training institutions;
• Complete a written essay examination; and
• Complete a comprehensive Strategic Action Plan.

Professionals with a minimum of a Bachelor's degree and two years experience may apply for enrollment.

Certification Administration

IP3 and WEDC/LU jointly administer each Certification Program, including admission standards and requirements; the adoption and maintenance of quality standards expected for adult education and training; approval of courses; and course selection guidance and counseling for current and prospective participants.

All of IP3 courses (both off-the-shelf and customized courses) are eligible for these professional certification programs. For specific certification eligibility of each IP3 course, please refer information contained in the website.
