E-Learning (Online) Courses
Introduction
The last five years has seen tremendous
changes in the way that training and education are delivered. Traditional
methods, such as classroom training and distance learning, have been
complemented, and in some cases, fully replaced, by the explosive growth of
Internet-based educational programming.
What started out as a nascent industry in
the late 1990's has grown into a multi-billion dollar industry. Universities,
professional training schools, and non-profit training institutions are all
embracing the Internet as an important vehicle for providing training services
and products.
IP3 is no exception. In early 2003, we
began the process of moving a number of our traditionally taught classroom
courses into the world of "cyberspace". Often called "online or e-learning"
training, using the Internet as a vehicle for training offers tremendous
benefits and opportunities for our training customers and clients,
including:
Benefits
for Human Resource Departments |
- Dramatic Cost Savings - No travel
or per diem costs while maintaining work productivity
- 24/7 Availability of course features - connect from
any Internet - anywhere at anytime
- Scalability - One person or a thousand from your
organization can be trained at the same time at low cost
- Significant Participant Collaboration and Learning
through interactive discussion boards and action planning
- Browser-Based Platform - No special computer skills
needed, courses work fine in low bandwidth
|
- The opportunity to take our courses "anytime and
anyplace". All a participant needs is a computer with a reliable connection to
the Internet to take a course;
- The opportunity to take more courses at IP3, as the
overall cost of taking an online course is substantially less than traditional
classroom courses; and
- The opportunity to pursue more concretely our
professional certifications offered in our specialized fields
E-learning at IP3
We invite you to join us to try out one of
our online courses. We offer the same level of course design and intensive
instruction as our traditional classroom training courses. All of our online
courses utilize the CIPA Training Methodology developed by IP3, which
focuses on content sessions, case studies, simulations, and action planning.
Each online course consists of 6 modules with each module conducted over a
one-week period. A typical course consists of the following:
- Reviewing topical "content-enriched" documents and case
studies and posting responses to questions into a Discussion Board thread;
- Providing comments to other participant's responses to
the questions and their action plan and receiving the same feedback from your
fellow participants;
- Developing, through a six-step process, a comprehensive
strategic action plan for yourself; and
- Receiving personal feedback and communications from our
"Course Facilitator" and special guest commentators on your work progress.
| Benefits
to the Participant |
- Take the course and Access Material on Your Schedule
and not someone else's. All you need is an Internet connection
- Collaborate and Interact with fellow participants
from around the world and our course facilitator in easy-to-use Discussion
Boards, Email, and Chat room communication tools
- Take Multiple Courses towards Professional Certification
as costs and lost office productivity are reduced sharply
|
Each course completed will earn the
participant 3.0 continuing education units (CEUs). Total work requirements per
module average about five (5) hours; a total of about thirty (30) hours over
the course of six weeks.
Participants from around the world are
taking our online courses, providing you with a tremendous opportunity to gain
new insights, meet new friends, and develop life-long professional
relationships.
IP3 uses as our learning management
platform, Blackboard Inc. (www.blackboard.com). This global company
provides e-learning solutions to universities and training institutions
worldwide. We have chosen their platform because of the friendly interface,
ease of use, and low-bandwidth requirements.
