Learning Objectives
The world is facing a changing energy landscape that is driven by a reliance on carbon-based fuels, uncertain supply, and environmentally unsustainable energy policies in consuming and producing nations alike. The over-reliance on carbon based fuels to meet ever increasing demand not only results in higher energy prices, but rapidly accelerates climate change and threatens the health and quality of life of people and our planet. Clearly, developing renewable and clean alternative energy will be a priority for years to come. Now that alternative energy options are becoming more economically viable, it is important for regulators, policy-makers and utility executives to fully understand the range of options to develop renewable alternative energy, and the regulatory instruments that can be used to attract investment in viable alternatives such as wind, solar, hydro, and biofuels.
IP3’s course on Renewable and Clean Energy Policies, Regulations, and Incentives to Promote PPP Investments is designed to assist government policy makers and regulators, as well as the business community, design and implement the correct policy and regulatory frameworks in order to advance the development of renewable energy practices and investments in wind power, solar power, biofuels, and a number of other sustainable and renewable energy sources that are now economically, technologically, and financially viable. Through practical sessions, case studies, and site visits to “state of the art” facilities, participants will master the knowledge of regulating and stimulating renewable energy practices and investments for use in their own countries and organizations.
