Learning Objectives
In the past
five years, information technology has made an explosive impact on the daily
lives of people around the globe. For utilities, the impact of this revolution
is clear: there is now a real opportunity to deploy new information
technologies and e-government strategies throughout all levels of the utility
that can realize "ten-fold" efficiency gains in data management, customer
service, communications, and operations never thought possible before. However,
the key issue is how to harness this rapidly evolving resource in a way that
adds immediate and long-term value, is easy to implement, can be completed on
time and under budget, and increase transparency and accountability in
government.
To help utility managers
better plan, develop, implement, and monitor e-government initiatives, IP3 has
designed a comprehensive training course titled, Utilizing E-Government
to Improve Government Service Delivery and Increase Transparency. In
this course, participants will learn to carry out effective "e-government"
assessments of the utility, integrate e-government solutions into the various
government units and departments, utilize data more effectively, and
incorporate web-based e-commerce solutions into service delivery practices.
Additionally, an important focus of the training course will be on how to
manage and train staff on new e-government processes for utility management. .
Through presentations, case studies, and
on-site meetings with leading organizations, participants will gain first-hand
knowledge and skills and bring these to bear in developing their own
e-government Action Plan. Return to Top
