“The training programs at IP3 are well structured and packaged with theoretical and practical course materials delivered by instructors who give due attention to participants with different backgrounds. IP3's state of art learning facilities and logistic support made the environment very conducive to learning. I strongly recommend the IP3 courses on PPPs to Government officials and staff of Multilateral Banks.”

Almaz Almine

“The IP3 course in Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Strategies, Methods and Project Structuring Techniques provided a comprehensive overview of the uses and applications of PPP, well-adapted to the developing and emerging world context, through inputs from highly-experienced professionals in the fields of economics, finance and legal issues.

Perhaps most importantly, the course allowed a very open and participative dialogue between lecturers and participants and provided a great opportunity to meet with public sector officials from Africa and Asia. I have no doubt it shall prove to be a very worthwhile investment to help us assist our clients for the development of PPP solutions, notably in the transport and water sectors. I'm sure I will be visiting IP3 again in the near future..!!”

Participant in the course Public-Private Partnership Strategies, Methods and Project Structuring Techniques Fundamentals of Infrastructure Project Finance, August 10 - 21, 2009

“As someone who holds a business management post in a consulting engineering firm, I decided that I needed a better understanding of the infrastructure life cycle, particularly the project finance aspects of infrastructure planning. Currently I am head of Arup’s Management Advisory Services Africa- this unit is charged with providing institutional, transaction advisory as well as financial advisory services to the client base of Arup; extending the firm’s value chain and overall service offering. Understanding the core drivers of infrastructure finance is critical for me to provide the most effective support to our technical units.

The course, Fundamentals of Infrastructure Project Finance, was a solid start to my professional development in this area. The materials used were written clearly, with a solid particle base to them. The online format was very seamless to use with quick and direct links to both instructors as well as fellow students. In particular, the feedback system/process was extremely useful, allowing for quick, honest and constructive feedback on views and assignments submitted. In a very short space of time I felt that my understanding of the fundamentals had increased measurable, allowing me to apply my learning immediately in my professional capacity.

In short, this was one of the most valuable and effective online/professional development courses I have ever taken.”

"Even though I completed my certification as an IP3 Certified Regulation Specialist in March 2009, I plan to continue taking IP3 courses, both on-line and on-site. I believe that IP3 trainings are of great value in providing the regulatory tools needed to confidently make decisions in my profession. The IP3 staff is courteous and professional and provide a training program that is second to none. I must also confess that the location of the Training Center is wonderful and boasts a view of the Washington bureaucrats from the classroom!"

“Prior to taking IP3’s Online Training Course, PPP Skills & Competency Development, I had only basic ideas about what PPPs are and how well developed PPPs are in most parts of the world. I developed an interest in the course when I heard about the launch of a PPP policy by the Zambian Government in November 2008..I must thank Dr. Francis Ndilila, Chairman of the PPP Working Group of the Zambian Government, who recommended that I visit the IP3 website to explore capacity building training."

The six weeks of interaction with the Online Course Facilitator, Kathleen Booth and course participants from around the world has enriched my understanding and appreciation of PPPs. I now feel very confident in my ability to share this new knowledge in capacity building to both public and private sector employees and decision makers. The short duration and intensity of the course kept me fully engaged, The weekly assignments encouraged me to search for additional information to supplement the course material. I must say, this course was a small investment that will certainly repay me for many years to come. IP3’s PPP Skills & Competency Development Online Training has been a whole new experience for me, and I've already started encouraging some of my colleagues to consider taking it. I’m also considering taking the Project Officers Management Skills Development Online course to compliment my new knowledge base.”

On Participation in the IP3 Training Program - 1811-WA "Auditing and Financial Review of Regulated Utilities

"When I began this program, I really did not know what to expect as this was a new course and I felt as though we were part of the IP3 experiment in developing the course content. I fact I may have alluded to this feeling to the program Co-coordinator on the second day of participation. However, as the program evolved, I became very pleasantly aware of the fact that its contents matched my expectations to a significant degree and I had to admit that the organizers new precisely what they were doing which is testimony to their competence and experience in this area of expertise.

Furthermore, the professionalism exhibited by the program management and coordination personnel was excellent as was the evident expertise of the facilitators. I urge the management and staff of IP3 to keep up the very good work you seem to be doing.

It is without any hesitation therefore, that I endorse participation in this program for any parties interested in developing a familiarity with the requirements and processes involved in the Financial Auditing and Cost Analyses of Regulated Utilities, as it is my opinion that significant benefit could be accrued therefrom."

"This is one of the best trainings I have attended (Demand Management in Water and Energy). A comprehensive course outline on Demand side management, delivered by highly experienced professionals, complemented by study visits to relevant establishments to see the applications of the theoritical concepts, to me, makes the IP3 course package outstanding.
The atmosphere was condusive and the entire IP3 Team was extremely very friendly. I am better equipped to handle my responsilibities at my Commission and look forward to attend more courses with IP3."

"Participating in workshop Advanced Issues in Telecommunications Regulation during December 3-14, 2007, was not only a new experience for me but an excellent opportunity for the enhancement of my telecommunications knowledge. IP3's faculty were all experts with tremendous experience, professionalism and human values. IP3's training methodology was a very valuable and important element of this workshop as it encouraged interactive discussions between the participants through exchanging their experience and opinions concerning the course topic matters being discussed.

For all of those reasons I'm sure I will come back again very soon to my IP3 family!"

"Due to heavy demands placed on modern professionals, lack of full time availability in a formal learning institution tends to limit skills and career development prospects. Online learning is therefore a handy career progression tool, as it mixes work and learning environments. The benefits would be incomplete if I didn't mention the cost and budget saving it provides, the flexibility of study times, and of course the opportunity to share diverse multinational experiences amongst the participants."

"The PPP Project Officer's Management Skills Development online training programme is a must for any Public Officer entrusted with, or anticipating being entrusted with, the responsibility of managing a PPP project. The modules clarify all the important steps necessary to actually manage and administer the key PPP phases: project inception and feasibility, procurement, project development, and project delivery, whilst not forgetting the importance of exit provisions. The modules illustrate what can go wrong with projects, as well as how to plan for successful ones, by analyzing actual case studies in a variety of sectors. The programme also trains the participant to use a useful planning and monitoring tool for designing your own project management "checklist" of required actions."

Dr. Kishore Baguant
Former Head, PPP Secretariat
Ministry of Finance and Economic Development
Port Louis, Mauritius

"The online programme on PPP Skills and Competency Development has been very interesting, educative and useful- it's coverage was nice and good for all participants to share our experiences in PPP management. It was very lively and interactive to all participants and indeed a good platform for networking. I believe the knowledge/skills acquired during the programme will improve my performance in managing PPPs.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank IP3 and the SADC Banking Association for organizing and giving us the opportunity to participate in this important online course."

The entire two weeks for the Advanced Issues in Telecommunication Regulation course have been terrific in all respects, be it course content, its presentation, lively classroom discussions and of course the liberty to pursue the individual formats of learning.

I have attended quite a few of such courses both in country (India) and overseas (Australia, Sweden and now US) and I believe this one was unique particularly in prolific use of modern day tools.

I particularly benefited from the web-enabled course tools and interface. This is one single tool can do wonders, as one is able to interact with it at one's own convenience.
